Letter recognition is one of the very first steps to reading so it’s beyond important in kindergarten. It’s important to practice alphabet letters during as many parts of the day as possible. You can do this through games, literacy activitiesmorning work and centers

Easy Alphabet Coloring Worksheets for Kindergarten

Something I always liked to incorporate with my kindergarten students is coloring. Coloring has so many amazing benefits for young children:

  • coloring helps work on fine motor skills
  • it fosters creativity, imagination and self-expression
  • coloring actually helps to improve focus in kids and attention to detail
  • it’s a relaxing and calming activity (which all kindergarten classrooms need from time to time!)

See why I love incorporating easy coloring pages in kindergarten now? The best ones are ones that get in some academic practice also! Let me show you my favorite alphabet coloring worksheets for kindergarten!

Kindergarten Alphabet Worksheets to Color

This favorite set of alphabet coloring worksheets has one page for each of the 26 letters of the alphabet. There are two options for the letter Xx – one option with the letter X within a word, and another option with the letter X at the beginning of a word.

On the top of each page you will find 3 items that begin with that letter to help students incorporate letter-sound identification to color.

In addition, there are handwriting lines with each letter printed 3 times to trace and space for them to write each letter 3 times independently as well. This makes it perfect for handwriting practice and practicing letter formations.

These pages require NO PREP work-just print and use them right away!
