Hi there! I recently found these word spinners at Target and realized how awesome they would be for literacy centers or morning work tubs. I asked on my Facebook page whether anyone would be interested in free recording pages for them and I got lots of responses, so I made them!
Before I go any further, I want to point out that on the CVC word spinner, the manufacturers (who clearly don’t teach about CVC words) used the pictures “cow” and “car”. *facepalm* Luckily, I realized that these still have great potential as a learning activity so I hacked them!
I printed two actual CVC word pictures – cup and lip – on cardstock and used Mod Podge® to stick them on. That’s it! I used two coats. I can’t attest to how well these will hold up after kiddos use them, but they seem to be pretty secure!
If you decide to leave the CVC word spinner as-is, I included a recording page with the original pictures.
I also picked up the four-letter word spinner and made recording pages for it as well, plus a CVCe word poster!
You can grab the freebie by clicking here or on the picture. Enjoy!
