This pack contains three sets of task cards that help students practice place value for numbers 11-19. This pack of task cards specifically targets the Common Core standard K.NBT.A.1.
The first set shows a number in base ten blocks and has an unfinished equation. Students can use the images to finish the equation and record their answer on the recording sheet.
The second set is to be used with base ten block manipulatives. Students are given a number and a set of ten. They will add ones to show the number. Note: There is not a recording sheet for this set.
The third set presents a number from 11-19 and asks students to build the number. Note: There is not a recording sheet for this set.
You can use task cards in so many ways!
* Place the cards around the room in alphabetical order (on the floor, taped to the walls, at students’ desks, etc.). Have students pair up. Play a “scoot” game. Each student brings a pencil and their recording sheet and will go around the room, stopping at each card.
* Place the cards at a center. Students can work on them independently. It works great if you hole punch the upper left-hand corner and put them on a ring – they don’t get lost and out of order this way! You can also slip them into plastic photo books.
* Use them in whatever way fits your students’ needs!
