Looking for decodable sentence practice? This pack has 30 Read and Match cards that have decodable sentences. This activity helps make practicing reading hands-on and fun for your students!
Each card has a decodable sentence that focuses on Short A CVC words. Students will read the sentence and find the picture that best matches the sentence.

In addition to the CVC words, there are 12 high-frequency words used in the sentences. The words are: I, in, a, is, on, it, he, and, the, has, see, like.
30 decodable sentences cards and pictures are included.
How to Prepare:
Print the activity on cardstock. Laminate for durability. Cut out the sentence and picture cards. You can add sticky hook-and-loop dots on the cards if you’d like!
How to Use:
Students will read the sentence and find the picture that best matches the sentence.
These cards can easily be used in small group instruction or in learning centers. Here’s what that might look like in your classroom:
Give each student a sentence card and present the matching picture cards for those sentences. Each student will read the sentence on their card and pick the correct sentence. Have them read their sentence aloud to check.
Pick sentences that have words your students know. Place the sentence and picture cards in a learning center.
