Spring is in the air, and that means it’s time to bring out all the fun Easter books for kindergarten! Whether you’re looking for stories about bunnies, egg hunts, or the fun of the holiday, there are so many wonderful read-alouds to share with your students. Here are some of my favorite Easter books that are perfect for a kindergarten classroom!

The Easter Egg by Jan Brett
Jan Brett’s gorgeous illustrations bring this sweet story to life. Hoppi, a little rabbit, wants to make the best Easter egg to impress the Easter Bunny. Along the way, he learns that kindness is more important than winning.

Pete the Cat: Big Easter Adventure by James Dean
If your students love Pete the Cat (and let’s be honest – who doesn’t?), they’ll have so much fun with this Easter-themed adventure! Pete is tasked with helping the Easter Bunny, and of course, he does it in his own groovy way. The book includes fun rhymes and a great message about helping others.

Pete the Cat: Easter Basket Bandit by James Dean
Here’s another fun Pete the Cat story! When Pete discovers his Easter basket is missing, he follows clues and works together with his friends to solve the case.

Turkey’s Eggcellent Easter by Wendi Silvano
This is a story about Turkey and his farm friends as they hatch a plan to join the Easter egg hunt at the county fair—despite animals not being allowed. With creative disguises and teamwork, they try to sneak in for a chance to win the special prize. It’s just one of several fun books in the Turkey series!

The Good Egg by Jory John
This is a heartwarming story about an egg who always tries to be perfect and help others, but eventually learns the importance of self-care and accepting imperfections.

There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Chick! by Lucille Colandro
This silly story follows the classic Old Lady pattern that kids love. The old lady swallows a chick, a basket, and even some jellybeans!

The Easter Bunny’s Assistant by Jan Thomas
This quick, silly story features the Easter Bunny and his overly enthusiastic assistant, Skunk, whose excitement causes some silly situations. Be sure to check this one out for some laughs!

Here Comes the Easter Cat by Deborah Underwood
This is a series that my kids and I love! This is a funny story about a grumpy cat who wants to take over Easter from the Easter Bunny. Through playful illustrations and a back-and-forth conversation with the narrator, Cat learns that being kind and helping others is more rewarding than competition.

Too Many Carrots by Katy Hudson
This is a charming story about Rabbit, who loves collecting carrots but soon realizes he has more carrots than he can handle. As he tries to store them in his friends’ homes, his growing collection causes unexpected problems.

It’s Not Easy Being a Bunny by Marilyn Sadler

Bunny’s Book Club by Annie Silvestro
Here is a heartwarming story about a little bunny who loves reading and secretly borrows books from the library at night. When Bunny’s book club is discovered, the library staff and animals work together to ensure that everyone can enjoy reading together. This is a new addition to my Easter bookshelf this year and it’s a must-have!

A Little Bit Brave by Nicola Kinnear
This is a heartwarming story about a little rabbit named Kiki, who is afraid to try new things but wants to be brave like her friends. With the support of her friends, Kiki learns that being brave doesn’t mean you aren’t scared – it means you are brave enough to try anyway.
